Who we are

A community-rooted technical organization for the ASAL borderlands.

APCINE was established in 2016 in response to the interconnected development, humanitarian and environmental pressures facing pastoral and agro-pastoral communities across Northern Kenya and the Gedo Region of Somalia. We work through locally led interventions that treat dignity and self-reliance as the point — not the byproduct.

Registered as a Community Based Organization in Kenya and a Local NGO in Somalia, our institutional presence lets us respond to needs across the Kenya–Somalia corridor, where livestock mobility, drought vulnerability, market access, conflict dynamics and community resilience are structurally linked. We are managed by independent, non-partisan indigenous professionals.
